Stop Performance
 
The Stop test records the deceleration and stop profile of the escalator in both directions of travel. Actual perfromance is compared with the maximum and minimum stop profiles allowed by code. Measurements are made to a resolution of 0.01” at a rate of 75 per second. This data is used to generate detailed stop profile graphs.

This test provides an accurate indication of the following: 

  • Brake problems
  • Compliance with Local / National codes and OEM spec’s
Safety is enhanced by: 
  • Reducing the potential for falls caused by excessive deceleration under emergency conditions, which could result in falls
  • Reducing the potential for fall caused by free running escalators
