Step & Handrail Speed

Dynamic speed tests are performed on the Step and Handrail simultaneously. This guages the relationship of speed transients between the step and the handrail. Measurements are made to a resolution of 0.1ft/min, at a rate of 30 per second. The data is used to generate detailed speed profile graphs.

This test provides an accurate indication of the following:

  • Stretched / worn chains
  • Worn sprockets
  • Step drive problems
  • Handrail drive problems
  • Compliance with Local / National codes and OEM spec’s
Safety is enhanced by:
  • Reducing the potential for falls resulting from the unnecessary activation of the broken / slack step chain device, broken drive chain device, or the handrail speed monitoring device.
