The analyzer applies a load of approximately 50 lb. to the step which allows measurements to be made under conditions similar to normal operation (a person standing on the step).

Measurements are made in two planes. The vertical plane measures the relative position of the steps to the comb as they pass through the comb. The horizontal plane measures speed and distance in the direction of travel.

The analyzer makes  up to 60 measurements per second which are logged and used to generate the graphical analysis reports, step deflection, step & handrail speed and stop performance.
